Today we made a car. We used popsicle sticks to the make the bottom of the car. Then we made a circuit with a battery, switch, and a motor that spins a fan.
Our conclusion was that when mass got bigger, time got longer. So lighter cars are faster than heavier cars. That means our hypothesis was right! yayyyyyy!!!!! ;]
I like experiments because we can learn new things for ourselves.
Then we decided to do an experiment with the car. Our question was how does the weight of the car affect its speed. Our hypothesis was that lighter cars will be faster than heavier cars.
Our procedure was:
- Make a race course of about 5 meters.
- Weigh the car.
- Time how long the car takes to finish.
- Add weight to the car and repeat 2 and 3.
We timed the car with four different weights. Our data was:
Then we made a graph that showed mass vs. time. The graph shows that heavier cars have longer times.
Our conclusion was that when mass got bigger, time got longer. So lighter cars are faster than heavier cars. That means our hypothesis was right! yayyyyyy!!!!! ;]
